Hey Look, There's Stuff. |
I post stuff related to my bazillion fandoms. Expect a lot of Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Star Wars, Farscape, Firefly, X-Men, Avengers, comics in general, Fallout, Star Trek, Assassin's Creed, video games in general, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, and so on. The list gets a bit long. Also, I talk about books a lot. Sometimes it gets political. |
if you are complaining that Bioware is turning games into dating sims shut up shut up shut up
completion time for the recent games falls typically between 20 and 30 hours. romantic oriented scenes and dialog take, total, about 30 minutes of that total time? if that? and are also completely optional?
ablooohooohhoooh some one is putting feelings in my video games!
SHUT UP
this the most obnoxious complaint I have heard in a damn long time.
there are plenty of games for you to play that have no emotional content whatsoever, where you can just shoot things or kill things and have an awesome time doing it. those are fine and have their place. but if you are attacking developers for putting more emotive content in their games - fuck you. no really I have nothing more eloquent to say than just fuck you. games will never grow as a medium or be taken seriously if we keep looking at them as just toys instead of vehicles for artistic expression or storytelling. there is room for all kinds of content in all kinds of games, and we should be embracing that instead of degrading it.
Thank GOD! Finally someone says it!
